I do my own wrenching, so I do the required work on my bike, along with other PM work. This winter I have to change both tires, front brakes, adjust the lifters and a few other odds and ends, like cleaning and lubricating the chain. So, what do you do???

I'm a computer geek by day and a rider the rest of the time! Obviously, I've spent my off-season pulling together www.coolbikerides.com. I've also been working on organizing a ride or two for the coming season. Otherwise, most of our "spare time" is spent running after the kids. My 13 year old daughter is a softball player and my son is a drummer. I have coached softball/baseball for the last 10 years and love it! The rest of the time is spent running my son to shows...

Right there with you Crash. By the way........."crashing sucks"!!! LOL I have a t-shirt that says that as well as a patch on my vest. I crashed a few years back and got messed up a bit, but now all is well and I can't wait for the 2008 riding season to begin.

Keep the shiney side up!!

Alright Crash, you have peeked my interest....what happened that got you your nickname???

I had a minor crash this last spring. Third time ever on the bike and I didn't really have the comfort level that I needed to be riding out of state on a permit. I attempted to take a slow, easy left hand turn and my lack of experience got the better of me. I went down doing about 20 mph, sprained my ankle and got some road rash on my knee. Had to have my husband come and ride the bike back home. It shook me up and rocked my confidence to the point that I wasn't sure I would follow through with the safety course that was in three weeks. Ian spent some evenings bringing me to the local school after hours and just coached me on turning and so forth. Went through the course and haven't regretted it since. The course helped considerably with my confidence and I road fairly well last year. Although dirt roads and turn arounds still need some work, but that will be this year.

Don't know what I'm complaining about though, if Babs can get back on and ride after what she went through, anybody can! Go Babs!!

I don't listen to much when we ride as we don't have a sound system on our bike, but I do like to talk to Ian when we are riding tandem. I would love to get the system for the helmets so that we can talk more while riding.

my nicknamed was earned in the Marines, because I had a bad habit of giving myself concussions on a regular basis, I swear i needed a helmet just to brush my teeth.... and a few years later, when I got out, I became a forklift driver. Let's just say I hit damn near everything but the lottery....
