All right, this is where it starts! One of our on-line friends has suggested doing some rides this year and threw out the acronym TOW for Tuesdays On Wheels. I'm planning on organizing a couple of these and hope that others will do the same.
There were some suggested starting points and I've decided to bring on a new sponsor and begin at their place for one or two rides. The new sponsor is RJ's Ice Cream & Bake Shop at 19 Babbs, Rd in West Suffield, CT. They're just over the line from Southwick on the South side of the Congamond Lakes. They opened up this last year and offer coffee, sandwiches, ice cream and some great baked goods! We discovered them on a Winter ride this year and have been stopping back frequently.
They are even biker friendly! In fact, Lisa and her husband also ride and hopefully they'll join us this year!
I can't do all of these so I'm going to need your help. If you have an idea for a ride and if you're willing to lead it, let me know. I'll take care of publishing it and letting folks know about it. Be sure to start it at a biker friendly restaurant or something similar so folks can grab a bite before they get going. Give me a heads up as to the name of the establishment, and if you know the owners, let me know who I should speak to. I'll run it by them and make sure they don't mind us using their place as a starting point.
I'll also post the info on these rides here in this forum so people can talk it up and share their experiences when the ride is done.
I'll post the dates for my TOW's soon so you can ad it to your calendar!
Here's the legal stuff: These rides may or may not be lead by a member of Cool Bike Rides. YOU RIDE THESE RIDES AT YOUR OWN RISK! I'll set up a couple, maybe a MOW or WOW (Monday or Wednesday On Wheels. Maybe have a hookey ride those days, stop to eat and refresh then off on another ride with a few more picked up at the meeting place!!

It's final, we're going to do the first Cool Bike Rides TOW ride this may. See the info on the Group and Charity Rides section of the site. You'll find a link to the TOW rides section there. This will start at RJ's in Suffield but I think the actual run will take us into MA. Crash, if you'd like to join us, call me and I'll tell you where to meet us on the MA side. It's just up the road from RJ's and you can pick up with us and ride the rest of the way. We're going to head up into Huntington and then scoot up 66 to grab an ice cream...
