I just love riding in the Berkshires and surrounding areas. Last year I hosted a ride that started at Hawley's in Belchertown, proceeded to Mt Tom State Park, then went to Chesterfield Gorge in Chesterfield off rte 143, then ventured west on 143 to rte 8 to Dalton for a fuel and rest stop. I then led them to Windsor Jams State Park for a wonderful viewing of nature, and then rode up to rte 116 east to Mt. Sugarloaf in Deerfield for a view of the valley. What a sight!!!! We ended at Bub's BBQ for a nice feast. About a 185 mile ride, plus getting to the start point and back again, making about a 240 mile day for me. 240 miles of smiles!! I will be hosting this ride again, so I will be posting it here for anyone interested in joining for a nice "flower sniffing" paced ride.
Sounds like a blast to me too! I'll have to try that one this year. The Berkshires are amazing to ride through. There's so many variations on routes...
